Homeschool Group Lessons
Interested in learning an instrument? Come and experience the joy of making music at Allegro Jams Music Academy! Our group lessons provide exceptional instruction and the opportunity to create lasting friendships. Making music with peers is engaging, motivating and fun. It's also the most economical option for studying music with a professional instructor.
"Music has a great power for bringing people together. With so many forces in this world acting to drive wedges between people, it's important to preserve those things that help us experience our common humanity." — Ted Turner
Brass instruments include trumpet, trombone, french horn and euphonium.
Woodwind instruments include flute, clarinet and saxophone.
If you are interested in group lessons but are unavailable at the times listed above, please reach out and we can work on scheduling another class. Class sizes range from 3-7 students, so if you have enough friends interested in a different time - let's make it happen!
Classes are located in Star, near the Waggin Tails Dog Park
In addition to 50 minutes of professional instruction each week, students will receive a clear practice schedule outlining each week’s goals and tasks. If students miss a rehearsal they can easily figure out that week’s material and get caught up. By the end of the first semester students will be able to play songs with whole notes, half notes, quarter notes, and simple 8th note rhythms on the first 7 notes on their instruments.

An instrument in good working condition. I recommend purchasing or renting a used instrument from Blue Rider, Dunkley or Welch's Music.
Clarinets need a five-pack of Mitchell Lurie #2.5 reeds for Bb Clarinet
Saxophones need a five-pack of D'Addario #2 reeds for Eb Alto Saxophone
Sound Innovations book one for their corresponding instrument
Music Stand - There are so many to choose from, but you can find a solid stand here.
Music is an investment but it doesn't have to cost a fortune. Here is an idea of what to expect:
Tuition: My group 50 min group classes cost $90 per month.
Instrument: There are a lot of options for acquiring an instrument. I strongly encourage you to get one from a reputable source. As always, you get what you pay for.
New student level instrument $850-$1000
Used student level instrument from a music store $350-$600 (serviced and ready to go)
Used student level instrument from marketplace - $150-$300 (anticipate waiting 3-4 weeks and paying $100-$250 for cleaning and repair)
Method book - $10
reeds (clarinet & sax) $17 for a box of 5 reeds (lasts approximately 3 months)
Exceptions - Saxophones will cost more than the other woodwind instruments. French Horn and Euphonium will be significantly more expensive than all other instruments.
